Xavier Castellano
Head Coach
Xavier Castellano returned to his alma mater in 2014 to lead the program where he once played. An Estancia graduate (1998), Castellano began coaching while attending UC Santa Barbara, working with the Eagles' freshman team in 2001.
After earning his degree from UCSB in 2003, Castellano built the Estancia girls' program into an Orange Coast League power, posting a 108-56 record over six seasons (2008-14) with three league titles, six CIF playoff appearances and two quarterfinal runs.
Since taking over the boys' program, he's led the Eagles to an Orange Coast League championship (2020), five CIF playoff berths and two quarterfinal appearances (2020, 2022). Named Orange Coast League coach of the year in 2020, he was selected as Orange County All-Star coach for the South Team in 2022. His career record at Estancia tops 200 wins across both programs.
Castellano teaches special education social science at Corona del Mar High School. He and his wife Kathleen have two children, Max and Lilah.
"I feel very lucky and blessed to have the opportunity to lead the Estancia boys' basketball program. It is my goal to create a program that overachieves both on and off the court and that helps produces hardworking and responsible young men. We look to always represent our school and community in the most positive way possible."
